Terms of Service

RustTrust is a reputation analysis platform for Rust players. It aggregates publicly available Steam information and presents it as a readable overview, including a Trust Score, ban history, account health indicators and an automated summary.

RustTrust is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Valve Corporation or Facepunch Studios. Steam and Rust are trademarks of their respective owners.

By accessing or using RustTrust you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must stop using the service.

These terms apply whether you browse anonymously or sign in with Steam.

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum digital consent age in your country if higher, to use RustTrust. You must also have the legal capacity to enter into these terms.

You may not use the service if you have previously been banned from it, or if the laws of your jurisdiction prohibit your use.

Signing in is optional and is handled exclusively through Steam OpenID 2.0. RustTrust never receives, requests or stores your Steam password. Valve authenticates you and returns a signed assertion containing your public SteamID64.

• Signing in raises your daily analysis and comparison quotas.
• Your session is stored in a signed cookie and can be cleared at any time by signing out.
• You may revoke RustTrust from your Steam account settings at any moment.
• You are responsible for all activity carried out through your RustTrust session.

When using RustTrust, you agree to:

• Keep your Steam account secure and report any unauthorized use of your session.
• Use analysis results as one signal among many, never as a verdict about a person.
• Comply with the Steam Subscriber Agreement and applicable local law.
• Refrain from presenting RustTrust output as an official statement from Valve or Facepunch.

RustTrust is intended for personal use, for community moderation support and for server owners who want additional context before accepting a player.

Reasonable, human-scale usage within the published daily quotas is always acceptable. If you need higher volume for a legitimate project, contact us instead of automating the public interface.

You must not:

• Scrape, crawl, bulk-export or resell RustTrust data without written permission.
• Circumvent daily quotas through automation, proxies, VPN rotation or multiple identities.
• Use the service to harass, defame, dox, blackmail or threaten any person.
• Publicly claim that a Trust Score proves cheating, fraud or misconduct.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer or gain unauthorized access to the platform.
• Upload or transmit malicious code, or probe the service for vulnerabilities without a responsible disclosure request.

The RustTrust name, logo, interface, design system, written content and scoring methodology are owned by RustTrust and protected by intellectual property law. No license is granted other than the right to use the service as intended.

Public Steam data displayed on RustTrust remains the property of its respective rights-holders and is shown for informational purposes only.

RustTrust is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of data.

The Trust Score is a statistical estimate derived from public data. It is not evidence of cheating, fraud or any other wrongdoing, it does not detect cheating software, and it carries no official status with Valve or Facepunch. Server owners and players remain solely responsible for their own moderation decisions.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RustTrust and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, loss of data, loss of reputation or loss of profit arising from your use of the service or from reliance on its output.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use RustTrust in the twelve months preceding the claim, which is zero for free usage.

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service depends on third parties, in particular the Steam Web API, which may be rate-limited, degraded or unavailable.

We may modify, suspend or discontinue features, quotas or endpoints at any time, with notice where reasonably possible.

We may suspend or terminate your access without notice if you breach these terms, abuse quotas, or put the platform, its users or third parties at risk.

You may stop using RustTrust at any time. Signing out ends your session, and you can request deletion of your account data as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes are announced on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
